Me
Howdy. My name is Brandon Clements. But some people really only know me as “Klash”. It’s a long story….for later.
All you really need to know about me is fairly simple. I really love Jesus and want to follow Him, know Him more deeply, and share His joy with others. The truth of His Gospel has transformed me more than words can say. I am married to Kristi Gilstrap Clements, and that fact by itself makes me the most blessed man ever to breathe air. She is just unbelievable. I absolutely have the greatest family in the world. I also have the most incredible church family ever here at Midtown Fellowship. I am on staff here(Care Team Director) and I love what I get to do and the guys I get to do it with more than I ever imagined possible. Getting to pursue the passions in my heart for ministry with my best friends is nothing sort of a dream come true. I am a dreamer. I love to write. I want to teach people more about Jesus in any way possible. I want to bring the healing and hope of Jesus to broken people. I want to see the Church become a suitable Bride for Jesus. I love people and the stars and deep discussions over coffee, and I enjoy hot sauce and sunglasses perhaps entirely too much.
Why a blog?
My friend Jay Hendricks is one of the most humble people I know. He and I share the desire for pure motives in everything we do in ministry. I need Jesus’ help because my heart is wickedly deceitful and way too quickly turns toward wanting recognition or glory. The last thing I want this blog to be is a monument to my own twisted and self-absorbed kingdom. I’m a firm believer that there is nothing new under the sun, and that all we can possibly do is remind each other of things that have already been said. Far be it from me to ever think I deserve glory or credit for coming up with some cool analogy or thought to help us know Jesus better. The truth is that every good or useful thing that comes out of our mouths comes directly from the Holy Spirit’s indwelling life within us. So let us remind each other of all the things that have already been said through the Holy Spirit and together draw nearer to humility and the heart of Jesus. More than anything, this blog is a way of self-expression for me and also good writing practice(it provides a little more literary accountability than, say, my journal). Mind you this is all hypothetical seeing that I am fairly certain no one ever reads my blog. But nonetheless, motives matter. And they will be scrutinized by me, I promise. And if I do become a self-absorbed, personal kingdom builder blogger, my friend Jay will tell me and then beat me up.
Welcome to my blog, and I hope you enjoy…
